今天不回家

Poor MIL! She has been warded at Changi General Hospital since 2 December 2008 for a knee infection. Somehow, she has been under the impression that she can be discharged today (9 December 2008).

However, the doctor informed her yesterday that she will have to be warded for a few more days for the doctor to observe her condition. It seems that notwithstanding the constant antibiotic treatment that she has been given, she has not recovered.

When we visited MIL on 6 December 2008, her knee was swollen. There is apparently fluid in her knee. However, as she is diabetic, the doctor decided not to carry out surgery to remove the fluid in her knee. Instead, she has been given several courses of antibiotic, which have been administered via drip.

By 8 December 2008, not only has the swelling in her knee remained, the skin on her knee is now peeling.

Goodness me! The family is naturally very concerned. MIL's sister (SK) thinks that peeling of the skin is a good sign. I am not sure as I am not medically trained. Hi Aunt SK, what does peeling of the skin signify?

The fact remains that MIL will have to continue to be warded at the hospital for an indefinite period of time and she will have to continue to receive antibiotic treatment via drip. Ouch... I have ever been on a drip and I know how painful it can be when:-

(a) the needle is inserted into one's vein; and

(b) the medication enters the body via the drip.

Get well soon, MIL. And goodness me! Please try to minimise your walk-abouts in the hospital. We have reached the point where each time we visit you, we expect not to be able to find you at your hospital bed! I think even the nurses have resigned themselves to the fact that this is one patient who will not let life get her down. C'est la vie!

Thank You, Abba Father, for healing MIL. You always hear the prayers of Your children and answer them. All praises, glory and honour to You.

Today, the doctor decided to let MIL undergo surgery to remove the fluid from her knee. The surgery was carried out this afternoon under local anaesthesia injected into the back of her spine. Her knee is now in a bandage but blood is seeping out from the wound. And guess what? This feisty woman is still up and about, walking around! Goodness me!

Speedy recovery for MIL. She is so cheerful and positive. Great woman. She will recover very soon as she is a lady with strong will.

I believe that by His stripes your MIL's knee is healed, whole and perfectly okay. AMEN! =)

Let us not bee discouraged by what we see with flesh eyes, trusting God's Word and promises over her more.

I don't know if she is a believer or not, but we know one thing also - that through us, those related to us are also sanctified. =)

Havee U tried applying anointing oil or anointing her with the oil? =)

When Kae was in the hospital, we anointed a little girl who was unwell for the longest time... the doctors had no idea how long it would take for her to be cured. She was in a lot of pain at her tummy region. We also took communiion over her and I prayed with her mum. The day Kae checked out, the doctor still felt she was too unwell to go home. We believed Christ over what docs said though, and the next day, the little one was able to go home! Cured!

God is good!

Jehovah Rapha HAS HEALED your MIL! We believe with you. AMEN! =D

Thank you, everyone, for your well wishes.

It amazes me that in a dog-eat-dog world like ours, there remains people who cross barriers and borders to pray for the healing of someone unknown to them. May the light of God continue to shine through the eyes, hearts and actions of His children.

Hi Hungribunni, MIL is a Catholic.

I claim the Lord's promises for MIL and I thank Him that by His stripes, she is healed.

Despite what MIL is going through, she has remained of good cheer, to the extent that (as I have mentioned in my blog), she is perpetually K-L-K-K ("kia lai kia ker", that is, "walk here, walk there").

Da and I went to visit her at the hospital after work on 10 December 2008. She is raring to get back to her daily activities (she is still in the workforce) and she bemoaned the fact that she has missed a few episodes of "Little Nonya" on Channel 8 on television (there is only one television in a common area at her ward, so whether she gets to watch the channel of her choice depends on whether there is anyone else already there watching television when she arrives at the common area). She is also busy "terrorising" the nurses with her constant walkabouts (and hence disappearance from her hospital bed). :)

May the Lord bless all of you for your kind thoughts and wishes.
