It is 10 am on 19 December 2008 right now.As this post is published, ET is being wheeled into the operating theatre of the hospital for a surgical procedure.
There is a growth on ET's back. Upon consultation with his doctor, he has been informed that the growth would need to be removed via surgery.
He has been advised to undergo the surgery under general anesthesia.
Do not worry, ET! The surgery will go smoothly and you will be celebrating your birthday during Christmas this year before you know it!
SY informed me yesterday that she will be accompanying you to the hospital today and that she intends to knock you senseless before you enter the operating theatre (cheaper than using anesthesia!). I teased her that she might as well perform the surgery as well and she replied that she will bring along a chopping board, knife, needle and thread. *grin*
It seems that after the surgery, ET would have to be on a fish and vegetable diet for some time. Supercute has suggested that while ET eats salad, the rest of us will enjoy yong tau hu. I think that it is a splendid idea, Supercute! *giggle*

The operation was a success. ET has woken up from the general anesthesia. He is in fine spirits.... and raring to cheer on the Red Devils (that is, Manchester United football club) this weekend. He has also informed me that he wants to join the rest of us for yong tau hu.
