Whenever Da and I meet up with his friends who were his housemates from his university days in Australia, I would hear stories about how the household chores were shared, who did the grocery shopping, who specialised in cooking which type of food, etc.
Although I am the unofficial chef of our little household, every now and then, Da will whip up simple dishes / snacks for our consumption.
This morning, Da prepared sandwiches for our breakfast. What did he do? Well, he:-
(a) spread the garlic and potato bread (that I baked recently) with some home-made garlic spread (made by me);
(b) baked several slicse of bacon in the oven; and
(c) cracked some eggs in a bowl, added some salt and pepper to taste and cooked the eggs in the microwave oven.
Ta-da! Sandwich a-la-Da. Bon appetit!
As for me, I could not resist the temptation to add some deep fried anchovies (which we bought from our favourite coffee shop at Jalan Tua Kong) on 5 July 2009. Yummy!
They say that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. I guess for food-loving Singaporeans, the same applies to women as well.
Have a Shaloam week ahead!
