Welcome, Calla Lily!

The Three Musketeers have a new sister. She is Calla Lily, from Philippines. She arrived in Singapore on 30 October 2008.

Da and I met Calla Lily for the first time on 8 November 2008. She is petite and gentle. Nining gets along with Cally Lily, to the relief of Tiki.

I hope that you enjoy your stay in Singapore, Calla Lily! I am sure that you will become proficient in, inter alia, the following areas in no time:-
(a) cooking Singapore food
(b) doing reflexology
(c) screaming and shouting while watching Manchester United football matches
(d) cheering loudly while watching Formula One races
(e) enjoying the view of the fireworks during our National Day from the bedroom windows
(f) self-medication

For dinner on 8 November 2008, ET had outdone himself. Seafood pasta in tomato-based sauce! Delicious!

I had "ta-pau" some snacks from the wedding reception held that morning, so I shared them with the family.

Supercute and Blackninja like to eat sushi, so they were happy when they discovered that I brought along some sushi from the wedding reception.

No dinner would be complete without fruits. The family likes to buy seedless grapes. It is believed that the darker the grapes, the more nutritious the grapes are.

We also shared some cut fruits - mango, red apple and peach.

I made a carrot cake pudding as well as a pudding sauce to go with it. The pudding and the sauce can be eaten hot or cold. We refrigerated the pudding but heated up the sauce before ladling the sauce onto the pudding. In case you are wondering, a cake pudding is similar to a bread pudding. The difference essentially is in the amount of sweetening that you use. If you were to use a plain bread to make a bread pudding, then you would need to increase the amount of sweetening. I shall post the recipe for the carrot cake pudding as well as the pudding sauce soon.
