I baked bread today

As promised in my post of yesterday, I baked a loaf of bread today!

Da and I ate a simple brunch comprising nasi lemak from our favourite coffeeshop at Jalan Tua Kong. This stall offers you a choice of white rice or coconut rice. You also have a choice of ingredients.

I put our Philips hand grinder to good use and I made a puree/dip comprising avocado, red apple pear and peach. Yummy!

For teatime, Da and I decided to eat toasted bread. If you are wondering why I have arranged the toasted bread like a pyramid, it is because years ago, someone advised me that if I arrange the toasted bread like this on the plate, the toasted bread will not become wet and soggy. The downside is that it tends to cool the toasted bread very fast.

In case you are wondering why the bread looks purplish in colour, it is because I used the sugarfree seedless blackberry jam. To give the bread a bit more "weight", I added Nestum as well.

In the evening, FIL and MIL came to our place for dinner.

MIL is camera-shy.

I managed to take a candid photograph of MIL just as she happened to look up from where she was in the kitchen.

FIL and MIL had bought dinner from several stalls at the Marine Parade hawker centre. As such, we shared the food that they had bought.

MIL took the trouble to bring her own thermos when ordering the food from the hawker centre so that the food could remain warm for dinner.

Eeks! It's a monday tomorrow! "Back to the grinding stone", as the saying goes.

Hi BH, let's pray that this coming week will be less challenging than the one before, huh?

Shaloam,
