Marina escapade

Last night, I baked a loaf of sunflower and pumpkin seed bread. When I sliced it this morning, ooh-la-la! The bread was soft and aromatic. I decided to bring a few slices to the office and give them to the tea lady and the cleaning lady, both of whom have been very kind to me in all the years that I have worked in this company.

As I had arranged last night to have lunch with a colleague today, I decided to have a light breakfast. On 10 May 2009, I had bought some fried anchovies and fried peanuts from our favourite coffee shop at Jalan Tua Kong. As such, I had an anchovies and peanuts sandwich for breakfast. The bread that you see in the photograph below is spiced ginger bread that I baked two days ago.

Recently, my wonderful team in the office has been very hard at work on a big project. As a little "thank you", I baked a chocolate pound cake last night and I brought the whole cake to the office today for my secretary to slice the cake and distribute.

Lunch time! My colleague and I went to Hotpot Culture located at Marina Square. This was the same place that SC and I had our lunch when we had our girls' day out on 17 October 2007.

Hotpot Culture was still having their Taiwan porridge buffet lunch promotion which cost S$7.90 per person. After taxes, the bill came up to S$23.30 as we had ordered drinks as well. It was quite a good deal, considering the spread of food available.

After a heavy lunch, it was time for a quick cup of coffee each before my colleague and I took a bus back to the office.

Yawn... time for a little nap after such a heavy lunch. Sweet dreams!
