Happy Mothers' Day - Part 2

Happy Mothers' Day to all mothers and god-mothers! The Lord loves you!

The day started with lunch. I must confess that I was exhausted and woke up closer to noon. As it was too late to go for breakfast and it would be too rushed to go for the 2.30 pm church service, Da and I decided that we would attend the 5 pm church service and as such, we would enjoy a leisurely lunch.

I contacted my mother and we arranged to meet her, my brother (LG) and LG's girlfriend (ZT) for lunch at our favourite coffee shop at Jalan Tua Kong. When we arrived, we handed to my mother a present for Mothers' Day. Happy Mothers' Day, Ma! We love you!

As usual, my family and I tested the culinary skills of the chef by each ordering a dish that is not in the menu!

LG had the special order of the day - fried rice with spicy pork cubes and anchovies and topped with a fried egg. As we were admiring the presentation of each other's dishes, a family happened to pass our table and commented to themselves on how delicious the food looked. In the end, they also ordered something similar!

I am so glad that we attended church today. I had actually woken up with a very heavy head and I was tempted not to go to church today. Whenever I have such a feeling, I know that the evil one is trying to prevent me from hearing a very powerful message in church. And indeed it was truly an amazing message on grace that I received in church. Jesus is all we need. His work at the Cross is finished. Lord, grant me favour each day of my life and give me victory always.

After church, Da and I attended another Mothers' Day dinner. This time, it was held at the home of The Three Musketeers. ET had ordered a whole roast duck. He also blanched some baby carrots and broccoli and poached some salmon. Yummy, yummy, yummy!

When SY plucked out something round from one of the duck pieces and offered it to Supercute, he ate it and thereafter asked her what it was. Tau Suan's and my eyes turned huge when ET replied, "duck testicles". ET and SY burst out laughing and clarified that what Supercute just ate was the duck's brain. Gosh.... In case you are wondering, according to Supercute, duck's brain tastes like egg.

For dessert, everyone enjoyed some hot dog bread and fruit cocktail custard bread with a cup of latte. There were mixed reviews from ET, SY, Supercute, Tau Suan, Nining, Da and I as to which type of bread each of us preferred.

The icing on the cake was when the Red Devils won their English Premier League soccer match yet again. Hooray! The trophy is almost in our hands! Hi Bro YK, "neh-ni-neh-ni-boo-boo". *grin*
