Different Taste

I have to admit that my three square meals today were not exactly all that healthy. However, it was such a wide range of different types of delicious food with different tastes that I have no complaints.

For breakfast, Da bought nasi lemak for me from our favourite coffee shop at Jalan Tua Kong.

Due to miscommunication, Da ended up with an extra packet of lontong. I decided to save the lontong for lunchtime in case MIL (who had earlier planned to visit us) wanted to eat it.

When MIL arrived, she brought two packets of food. Her lunch comprised rice with ingredients that she bought from an Indian stall.

My lunch was roti prata - one with egg and one without.

My roti prata was served with an onion based gravy that was surprisingly not spicy.

MIL did not think that the lontong could be kept much longer and as such, she and I shared a bit of the lontong while Da ate the remaining lontong.

FIL came over in the evening to join us.

As Da had a work-related matter to attend to, Da called back in the late evening to ask what we wanted for dinner. MIL decided to give a telephone call to Different Taste Restaurant located at Frankel Avenue to order our dinner. That would save time as all Da needed to do was to go to the Restaurant and collect our order.

FIL ordered mee goreng.

MIL ordered fried hor fun.

Da ordered mee goreng.

I ordered beef fried rice. I must say, though, that I prefer the beef fried rice sold at our favourite coffee shop at Jalan Tua Kong in that the beef slices are thicker and more tender and the fried rice is more fragrant.

Da received a telephone call from FIL's sister today. Her first grandson was born in early June 2010 and the family is arranging for a one-month party next sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, the timing of the party clashes with Princess' enrichment class. The party starts at 1 pm whereas Princess' class starts at 2 pm. We will probably pop by at the party to say hello, coo at the baby and then scoot off for Princess' class.
