Excursion to Changi Airport and ZT's birthday celebration

Princess and I went on a morning excursion to Changi Airport Terminal 3 today with WC, SC and GIC.

We had breakfast at Ya Kun at the airport.

Princess hit it off with GIC the moment they met and she allowed GIC to carry her without hesitation. She was fascinated by GIC's pendant (which had a portrait of Mother Mary). GIC took the opportunity to let Princess knows that Mother Mary loves Princess.

After the airport, GIC was given a lift home before the rest of us adjourned to Ikea Tampines. I came across a shelving that I believe would fit in our kitchen and would come in handy to place our microwave oven.

As Da had to work late today, he came home after 3 pm. On his way home, he went to a vegetarian food outlet near our home and bought some vegetarian lunch. What you see below is vegetarian udon noodles.

Da also ordered vegetarian fried rice.

I do not mind eating vegetarian food but one thing I miss when eating vegetarian food is the lack of garlic in the food.

In the evening, we met up with my family to celebrate in advance the birthday of ZT (girlfriend of my brother, LG).

The venue of the dinner was at the hotel cafe of Quality Hotel.

The menu for the dinner? Teochew porridge buffet!

The cafe claims to have a spread of more than 40 dishes.

We found the food tasty and there was sufficient variety.

Do note, however, that the buffet spread does not include coffee/tea nor fruits.

If you have not tried this buffet, do give it a try. They take reservations up to a certain time, after which they only allow "walk-ins".

There is a lounge located next to the cafe. As such, we were treated to "live" music when the band performed.

Princess enjoyed moving to the lively beat of the music sung by the singers in the lounge.

After dinner, we adjourned to our home for "cake-cutting time". LG and ZT detoured to my mother's home first to fetch Boy-Boy.

We ate mint chocolates that SC gave us this morning.

Ta-da! ZT's birthday cake. The birthday girl will turn 30 years of age on 18 March 2010.

Boy-Boy loves it when there is a birthday celebration because he gets to be at the centre of attention when everyone is singing the "birthday song".

This chocolate cake is very light in texture, which is fortunate because the cake is very large.

If you are thinking that the strawberries on the cake look really large, it is because they are.

A slice of cake for you?

Boy-Boy watched patiently as ZT cut and distributed the cake.

Here is Boy-Boy, watching television.

Isn't Boy-Boy such a sweetie-pie, sitting quietly on the dining chair?

Our little darling loves hugs and kisses.

Here is the cutie-pie again.

Happy birthday, ZT... and many more to come. The Lord bless you always.

Shaloam,
