Happy birthday, Tau Suan

We had a very busy day today, with two sets of visitors to our home and a visit to another home.

In the morning, our friends WC and SC came over for Chinese New Year visiting. WC's mother, WC's niece (and her husband and baby son) also came over. I did not have time to do any baking this morning and as such, I quickly prepared snacks for our guests before they arrived.

More finger food for our guests....

WC and SC brought a Giordano Junior T-shirt for Princess. Thank you very much! She likes it a lot.

Our new Electrolux washing machine was delivered in the late morning. It seems quite easy to use. Phew!

In the early afternoon, Da informed me that FIL and MIL would be coming to our home for lunch. Before they arrived, I steamed and pureed vegetables for Princess. The containers of pureed vegetables will be frozen in the freezer. (Sorry, GP... I know that the puree looks "very green" again!)

As Da was working this morning, he went to our favourite coffee shop at Jalan Tua Kong after work to buy lunch. The "one-dish meal" stallholder was very thoughtful and she gave us a complimentary portion of stir-fried chicken for our eating pleasure.

FIL and MIL ate fried bee hoon.

Da ate fried mee goreng.

I ate mee sua with soup.

In the evening, we went to the home of the Three Musketeers. Tau Suan turned 13 years of age yesterday. Happy birthday, Tau Suan!

ET informed us that as today is the 7th day in the new Lunar calendar, it is "everybody's birthday". As such, he cooked a special dish comprising 7 types of vegetables for the occasion.

He also stir-fried some duck meat. This dish was very delicious.

Nining was a very good 姐姐 and she did her best to keep Princess entertained.

For dessert, NS deep fried some yam and served it with coffee. Yammy (please pardon the pun)!

Typical of all Chinese homes during this period, ET's home had many containers of Chinese New Year goodies for snacking.

Shaloam,
