Goodbye to our washing machine

Our Electrolux washing machine, which we have been using for more than ten years, finally decided to go into retirement.

I do not know what is wrong but the water in the drum of the washing machine would not drain off. I recall that the drum of the washing machine had been repaired previously several years ago and as such, it would not be worth our while to repair the washing machine again.

As such, after work today, Da and I rushed to Harvey Norman at Parkway Parade to buy another washing machine. Goodness me... the prices of washing machine have gone up in the last ten years! Also, the washing machines sold nowadays have so many gadgets (electronic or otherwise) that it was so confusing and difficult to select a washing machine.

We finally decided to "play it safe" and we bought another Electrolux washing machine that has a capacity of a 7kg load. We were relieved when the staff at Harvey Norman informed us that the new washing machine would be delivered between 10 am and 3 pm tomorrow. Phew!

Before we left Parkway Parade, we went to the food court located at the basement level of Parkway Parade to buy dinner.

We ordered some fried dumplings from the homemade noodles stall at the food court.

From the same stall, we also ordered "ban mian". There must have been a miscommunication between the stallholder and me because I ordered "ban mian" with fish but we ended up with "ban mian" with pork. I am not certain, though, how the stallholder could have misheard "fish" (which I said in Mandarin) as "pork".

As requested by us, the stallholder separated the noodles (and ingredients) from the soup. Otherwise, homemade noodles would have expanded in the soup on the way home.

As my mother was at our home, we also ordered "ban mian" for her.

Da had a heavy lunch and as such, he ate some finger food for dinner instead.

We have a birthday party to attend tomorrow evening. Tau Suan turned thirteen years of age today and his family will be celebrating his birthday with a dinner tomorrow at their home. Happy birthday, Tau Suan!

Shaloam,
