Bottoms' up!

Da and I met up with WC and SC for dinner today. We had not seen them for some time and it was good to catch up.

As Da had a voucher for a 1-for-1 promotion at O'Learys Sportsbar & Grill (which was valid at the Singapore Flyer outlet), we decided to have dinner there.

In the evening, Da came over to my office and WC and SC picked us up from there. SC had been discharged from hospital a few weeks ago, following a back surgery. As it was a "bad back" day, the driver for the day was WC.

This is the first time that Da and I have been to the Singapore Flyer. Up close, it seems to move faster than when we drive past it.

Dinner started with some toasting. Cheers! Da ordered a bottle of Tiger beer while the rest of us ordered Shirley Temple, a non-alcoholic cocktail.

For starters, we ordered a plate of deep dried mushrooms. The shitaake mushrooms were fried to perfection and very delicious.

WC ordered a chicken burger for his main meal. What was interesting about his burger was that there were beansprouts in the burger.

I ordered a beef burger. As requested by me, the burger arrived medium-cooked but with "no more blood".

SC and Da ordered a mixed platter each, which comprised a small rack of ribs and a big leg of chicken.

During dinner, WC regaled us with stories of his recent "suffering" when SC was at home, unable to walk after her back surgery and his mother was at home, unable to see after her eye surgery (she had an implant inserted in her eye). I can just imagine WC being at the beck and call of his mother and his wife..... "W.....C......! Come and help meeeeeeeeee!" *grin* No wonder I saw more white hair on his head today.

Would we patronise O'Learys again? I would say "yes". The food was tasty and the ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and conducive for chatting. We waddled out of the restaurant extremely stuffed and decided to take a short walk... to the car, that is. En route to the car park, we stopped to have a look (from a distance) at the ongoing Integrated Resort development that is currently under construction.

It was good to catch up, WC and SC. Let's do this again soon!
