Excursion to Marina Barrage

We went for an excursion to Marina Barrage this afternoon.

Da had to work this morning and as such, I warmed up two bread buns for my breakfast.

I ate the bread buns with a mug of hot tea.

Shortly before teatime, we set off for Marina Barrage. The weather was lovely and perfect for the excursion.

The Marina Barrage is a man-made inlet reservoir.

You get a panoramic view of the city from Marina Barrage.

As we had not yet eaten our lunch, we went to the Gallery Cafe located on the 2nd storey for lunch.

I ordered fish and chips.

Da ordered chicken cutlet spaghetti.

After a delicious lunch, we ended the meal with ice cold double-fudge mocca.

Yawn.... time to get our feet going again.

More "walk-walk" around the Marina Barrage.

We took the elevator to level 3.

There is such a beautiful view of the city skyline from level 3!

The place was very crowded.

There were many people flying kites over there. Princess was fascinated. She was excited when a guy let her his kite, albeit briefly.

The round thing that you see below is the Singapore Flyer.

This is the Marina Bay Sands integrated resort.

We saw many people taking photographs of the lovely skyline.

After a lovely afternoon, we went home to rest for a while before we went to the home of PIL. MIL decided not to cook and she went to the cafeteria located at the clubhouse in her development to buy some dinner.

MIL bought stir-fried broccoli.

She also bought the "special fried rice". What is very unusual about this dish is that there is nothing special about the ingredients and yet the fried rice tastes very yummy.

And Hong Kong mee.

The 4 of us shared the fried rice, mee and broccoli for dinner.

MIL also brewed a pot of chrysanthemum tea with wolfberries.

For dessert, we shared a bowl of cheng tng.
