Visit to rental flat

Our breakfast today comprised leftovers from the week. I warmed them up in the oven and they were delicious.

Instead of our usual coffee, I decided to make a mug of hot mocca.

MIL had given us two durian puffs from Polar Cake Shop yesterday. Da and I ate one each. Not having eaten durian for some time, I no longer crave durian but I guess a small little durian puff will not make my cholesterol level shoot up.

In the afternoon, we paid a visit to our rental flat.

We have contracted to sell our current home and we are waiting completion of the sale and purchase.

In the meantime, we have taken up a tenancy of a flat in an HDB estate. We intend to stay in the rental flat until we complete the purchase of another property, renovate our new home and move in.

This is a "3-room HDB flat". Do not be fooled by the name. Despite the reference to "3-room", in HDB lingo, "3-room" means that there are only 2 bedrooms.

This is the spare bedroom. We intend to store our existing furniture in this room.

This is the master bedroom. The bed looks customised.

This is the living room (or as some would call it, "hall").

The dining area and living room are not separated by any doors.

This is the dining area.

This is the shower area.

This is the w.c. In case you are wondering, the landlord knocked down the wall between the shower area and the w.c..

This is the kitchen.

The door that you see in the photograph below leads to an addition room that was created when this HDB flat was upgraded by the government. The landlord has stored her belongings in this room and hence the door is locked.

For our dinner, we decided to "ta pau" from the coffeeshop in the next HDB block.

I ate steamed white rice with ingredients.

Da ate fried rice.

Dinner was an interesting experience because for the first time, Princess (who is not tall enough to sit on the dining chair), kneeled down on the dining chair, used the disposable spoon, helped herself to Da's fried rice and fed herself. She made an utter mess of the dining table (not to mention the floor) but we were tremendously pleased to see that she is learning to feed herself.
